The Healdsburg Museum is interested in documenting and preserving the business
history of northern Sonoma County, and of Healdsburg in particular.
The R. S. Logan Store
Photographs
The Museum has a large collection of historical photographs of local
commercial buildings. Most of the photos date from the 1860s through the
1960s. Businesses located around the Plaza are especially well represented
in the Museum's photograph collection.
Events and
General Information
The newspaper index contains references to articles about local businesses,
indexed by type of business (“Barbers,” “Breweries,” “Lumber Mills,” etc.).
Many of these newspapers are available on microfilm at the Museum (see the
newspaper section for details).
Many of the most informative articles have already been printed and are filed
in the subject files (see the documents section
for more information).
Historical Advertisements
The city and county directories at the Museum also contain advertisements
and addresses of local businesses.
