In keeping with the fact that it's July, the July Photo of the
Month is of the July 4th parade in 1940. Think about the
national mood at the time. We'd been in World War II for
just 7 months. It must have been a very patriotic feeling
watching the stars and stripes go by under the circumstances.
Note the old City Hall which stood where Oakville Grocery now
stands. The old City Hall was torn down in the 1960s and
replaced with another, smaller, City Hall that was eventually
replaced by Oakville Grocery.
