Yurok or Hupa Twined Fancy Basket Dimensions: The bowl is 7 inches in diameter. Condition: Good with loosening of the rim coils. Estimated Date of Origin: 1920. Description: Three-color pieces with half-twist overlay in bear grass and two kinds of fern. The dull brown weft is conifer root over a warp of hazel shoots. The lineal patterns are the striped water snake design. Has exposed, crossed warps at the rims. |
