The
HM&HS Board of Directors consists of six officers - President,
Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Recording
Secretary and Corresponding Secretary - and between seven and
fourteen Board members. Officers and members are elected at the
annual general meeting of the Society for a two year term and may
serve for up to four consecutive terms. The Board provides
leadership, motivation and direction to the Society and oversees
policies and plans which contribute to the effective
administration of the Society. The Board meets monthly.
Members of the Board either chair or serve on all Standing
Committees and on other committees established by the Board.
HM&HS has eight Standing Committees. They are:
Administration, Collections Management, Endowment,
Finance, Volunteer Association, Membership, Public Relations and
Publications. Ad Hoc Committees may be established to carry out
specific functions or activities not otherwise under the purview
of a Standing Committee.
A Nominating Committee is also elected at the annual general
membership meeting. Persons who are interested in serving on
the Board of Directors or on one of the Standing Committees should
contact a member of the Nominating Committee for information. Call
the Museum (431-3325) for names and telephone numbers of members
of the Committee.
