Fairs & Festivals
Antique Fair (The Former "Barn Sale")
This informal rummage sale began in 1994 in a barn on West Dry Creek Road. While very popular, the sale was too far removed from the Plaza, so in 1997 it moved to the Classic Antiques Auction House on Healdsburg Avenue. As everything sold was donated by generous Museum friends and supporters, the sale met with great success.
In 2010, the Antique Fair on the Plaza was August 29th. Plans are in the works for 2 Antique Fairs in 2011. Watch this space for details.
Senior Living Art, Wine, Music Festival

Sponsored by Healdsburg Senior Living, these new annual spring fundraisers at the beautiful Senior Living facility on Grove Street benefit HM&HS. Seeking to "give back" to the community this group of still-active community elders graciously host a festival featuring: local artists, wine donated and poured by fine area wineries, delicious foods, local performers, a Museum exhibit and Silent Auction. It’s a great way to engage in spirited discussions with many of the people who created Healdsburg’s history. Free to the public, a suggested donation of $10 covers all and provides guests with a commemorative wine goblet with the Museum's logo.
Annual Endowment Lecture

ENDOWMENT LECTURES offer the public insights on history by those who make history. The past two events presented nationally acclaimed speakers and leaders in their fields: Tom Reed, former Secretary of the Air Force under Presidents Ford and Carter, author of The Nuclear Express: A Political History of Nuclear Weapons 1938-1979; and Fred Furth, antitrust litigator of high profile cases, founder and member of the International Judicial Conference; international jet pilot, author, philanthropist, and founder of Chalk Hill Estate Winery & Vineyards.
Historic Homes Walking Tours
Perhaps one of the best ways to become familiar with Healdsburg is to simply “take a walk.” Of course, when led by the Museum’s Research Curator and Historian, Holly Hoods, joined by volunteer Architectural Historian, Fran Schierenbeck, a simple walk through the neighborhood becomes an experience that ties the past to the present. Walking tours highlighting local residential architecture in the historic district near the Museum are peppered by the stories of those who have occupied them. Spring Walking Tours are announced on the Calendar Page of the Review and are posted as scheduled on the Home Page. (Fee $15 for non-members, $10 for members).
Volunteer Appreciation Picnic and BBQ
The Healdsburg Museum Board and staff will host this annual summer celebration of the Museum’s volunteers, chaired by Darla Williams Budworth with a crew of helpers. Invitations will be mailed before the event. Each active volunteer may bring one guest. Space at the Brandts’ Beach picnic grounds is limited, so participants should RSVP as soon as possible after receiving an invitation. Friday, August 5 at 6:00 pm
Future Farmers Parade Watching Party and BBQ

May 26-28th was the 62st annual Future Farmers Country Fair at Recreation Park. This year’s FFA parade theme is “What’s in Your Backyard?”. The parade started at 6:00 on Thursday, May 27th. Museum members and friends had the best parade watching spot in town: the Healdsburg Museum garden. We feasted on delicious barbeque and side dishes by chef Peter Leary, paired with local wines.
