The Annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic was held on August 7, 2009. Because of Mary Brandt's generosity, once again this year it was held at Brandt's Beach on the Russian River. The picnic, as usual, was coordinated by Darla Budworth, who did an outstanding job, even arranging for her brother, Dennis Williams, to provide music for the first time. The food this year was acclaimed to be the best ever, thanks to the fantastic grilling by Kent Mitchell (known as Chef Extraordinaire) and his partner in crime, Mark Gleason.
The intent of the picnic is for the Board of Directors to say a big "thank you" to all of the volunteers who give so much of their time and energy to the Museum all year long, every year. As one Board member said, "We try to say thank you a LOT, but it's never enough. Hopefully, this picnic will add to the awareness of just how much they are appreciated."
Below are several pictures from the event. Thanks to Darla's Sister-In-Law, Donna Williams, for taking most of them, and to Sue Ross, who added 6 at the end.

Approximately 98 people were on hand this year, the biggest attendance ever. The idea was for the Board to provide all of the food, drink and labor, and for the volunteers to simply enjoy.
